Smooth, warm, cool, or room temperature bamboo tools are used as an extension of the therapist’s hands to massage all layers of muscles, fascia and connective tissue. When the bamboo is warmed, the body tends to relax more quickly and release pain and tension more easily. Comparable to a Deep Tissue Massage, the use of bamboo provides a unique experience many find to be deeply relaxing and restorative.

Cultural & Traditional Aspects of Bamboo

More than 1500 different species of bamboo grow naturally throughout most Asian countries plus South and Central America. Most Asian countries treat this fastest growing, annually renewable resource with great reverence. Bamboo feeds them, houses them, graces and shades their environment. It is used to make their musical instruments, cooking and eating utensils, furniture, hunting weapons, and storage baskets, lamps and lampshades, ropes and strings, roof tiles, hats and has hundreds of other practical and spiritual uses.   -Excerpt from Bamboo World by Victor Cusack
